Jump Rope Dress

This is the first Oliver + S pattern I have attempted, the popular Jump Rope dress, many thanks to a lovely blog reader who offered to swap patterns with me.

page1A

Sewing the placket for the button holes was a big learning curve for me.  Notice that I like to insert piping in all my dresses? Seriously, I am addicted.  The tabs on the sleeves are a nice touch on the pattern. I wish this pattern is available in my size, if you know where to find a similar pattern in adult size, do leave me a message!

I made it in 2T size so it’s long on her now.

She was looking out for the neighbour’s dog…ooh..saw it!

“Mummy, Wooow wooow!” (that’s ‘dog’ in Cantonese)

  7. The piping is a lovely touch. I'll have to remember that when I finally get around to sewing it.

  8. I have never seen an Oliver & S pattern sewn up. This would go with the pink and green bedsheet dress I made for my teenager. You make the CUTEST dresses! Your little girl looks almost the same age as my youngest who is 26 months.

  12. It is SO cute!! I love the piping and the button placket. :) I heard that the Lisette series of patterns is by the same creator as Oliver and S, but designed for women's bodies. http://www.sewlisette.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=SL&Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=AP
